HOMEFRONT

"Homefront" is a collection following the emotional journey of a soldier’s departure through the eyes of his lover. Drawing inspiration from my own relationship with a soldier in the military, this collection is rooted in the emotions of love, longing, and the anticipation of reunion as I await his return from Alaska. Throughout this body of work, I explore the emptiness that fills the lover’s heart in the absence of her soldier, a void amplified by the physical distance and silence that often accompanies long periods of separation. Each piece reflects the resilience of love that persevered despite all. Homefront aims to evoke an essence of a world that the lover has created by integrating aspects of her soldier’s life into her own, an act of remembrance and closeness. This act causes the intangible to feel tangible, offering a temporary erasure of distance until the two can be reunited once again.
